Mariana Torres

My practice revolves around the process of making art. The physical act of creation and the evidence of it. Recently I have been exploring monotony, repetition and persistence, and I let characteristical parts of the materials/objects define what I will do next. For me, the studio is more an experimental laboratory rather than a factory for finished pieces. On my recent projects I have been exploring the idea of construction by deconstruction of objects/materials -  creating an endless cycle of repetition.
The everyday life has become an important factor in my work. The celebration, recollection and admiration for it.
